- LOSING A BOYFRIEND
I never did really figure out
what came over my sister. Nearly six years older than I, she
was pretty distant for the most part, until she broke off

- MOUNTAIN CABIN TIME
My folks and my aunt and uncle decided
they would all go to my uncle's cabin for the Easter weekend.

- SIS AT THE BEACH
It was a very hot summer day, and we lived not very far from
a local beach in Southern Florida. It was a warm Saturday
morning, and Mom and Dad had taken off to go visit some relatives
in Northern Florida near Jacksonville, leaving us at home
for the weekend. My younger sister, Donna and I, packed some
gear, including some suntan lotion, towels, soda pop and some
chips, a couple of books, and various other odds and ends.
Even though it wasn't a down town beach, and was slightly
remote, it was still occasionally patrolled by beach cops,
and there was a life guard station on the beach somewhere
near our place, though I had seldom seen a life guard anywhere.
I spread out our blanket and arranged the cooler and other
goodies around us: towels, books, a portable cd player, a
